Overview
We developed an e-commerce mobile app for Vishakha Creation, a Delhi-based boutique. The app enables their customers to view, order and customize the various designs of their made-to-order dresses. With a seamless checkout experience, customers can place their orders and pay from within the app.

The Problem
Vishakha Creations needed an e-commerce app to give their customers a way to shop online for their products without having to visit the store. Unlike commodities and readymade products, they offered tailored dresses, which meant extra features were required to allow for measurements and customization.
The payment structure involved the customer paying an advance before the work began and paying the balance in predefined installments, which added complexity to the order placement and payment features.
The Solution
Firstly, we took note of the fact that the primary driver of the business at a boutique is the creativity of their designs. Their mobile app needed to reflect this creativity as well. We worked hard to strike a balance between adding some flourish to the app's design while keeping it clean and usable.
Taking orders for tailored garments posed a challenge as the regular order and checkout flow needed to allow for customization, measurements and additional communication between the customer and the tailor. We needed to make all of this possible in the simplest way possible. A measurements form was added to the checkout flow which was linked and saved to the customer's profile. For the sake of simplicity and ease-of-use it was decided that we would add a link to start a WhatsApp chat for additional discussion on the design after an order was placed.
After a few iteration, we landed on a good order placement flow with the feature for paying an advance to finalize the order. The customer could pay the balance amount from the 'My Orders' section. Our usual seamless checkout experience, powered by Razorpay, was modified accordingly to support this payment structure.
